Hi!

I'm going to order some development trays from freestylephoto. I wonder how do Arista brand compare to Paterson. Im looking for 16x20" trays

dunno

I have patterson 5x7 and 16x20, they are nice, semi-rigid, good pour spouts, thermometer notches, made in England

my yankee 11x14 are rigid plastic

can't remember what the 8x10 are

the question is, buy local or pay $hipping

I dont think it matters which for durability. For me, its about saving money, I buy the lesser price, and put the savings toward the $hipping that most places figure by total order price.

I've got Paterson 8/10, Yankee 16/20 trays I bought in the early 1960's and I still use them!

I think they're both made of polypropylene and they are remarkably similar, if not identical. I've a set of Paterson trays that I picked up used years ago and they're better than good. If I were to buy new today, I'd get the Arista brand without hesitation. They're just trays, after all. The only ones I don't like are the hard plastic ones. Bang one and it will crack.

...Not unusual for the same
piece of darkroom gear to be marketed under more
than one brand name. Dan

Not unusual at all. Seen it many, many times over with all sorts of gadgets and gear.
