Does this film have an anti-halation backing? I shot my first roll on a bright, hard highlight/shadow day and one shot did make me wonder that a spot "glow" resembling halation might indicate so.

I overexposed 1 stop and underdeveloped 20%

Yeah, the antihalation properties of this film aren't the greatest, and it doesn't really live up to its suggested speed either. But all in all, it's not terrible. I can use it for some things, and I do. While not of the same caliber of Kodak, Ilford, and Fuji films, it is nowhere near as bad as that crappy Lucky Pan stuff from China.

Thanks, most of the other exposures on the roll, mainly shot in the same contrasty conditions, don't show perceptible halation.

I've used this film as ISO 100 and 200 5x7' sheets and had good results, but I wouldn't attempt to shoot LF in this light.

Just trying a new genre: street/candid pix with no light control. I knew that ever reliable TriX was really the film for that. I'll find a more gentle situation to use the Arista as I believe that it does have virtues.

Regards - Ross
