Hello All,

I've read a number of places that the Arista E-6 3-Bath Kit should not be used to process newer tabular-style films like Velvia and Provia. Since I'm planning to return to shooting some E-6 film--most likely Provia 4x5--and would like to process it myself in my Jobo CPP-2, can someone verify if this is the case? Or, would I be just fine processing Provia with the Arista E-6 3-bath kit? I've read quite a few posts here regarding this Arista kit, but didn't see any mention of films to avoid. Btw, per all the threads on stabilizer, I will be using Kodak Flexicolor Stabilizer III as a final rinse if I go with the Arista kit.

Thank you for any insight provided.

Best regards,
AlanH

I have used the Arista 3 bath kit with Kodak, Fuji, and Rollie films with good results. Can't speak to long term stability though never minding the lack of stabilizer in the kit.

Just go with the much higher quality Tetenal kit as it IS designed for these films. Getting back into slide film and then cheaping out on the chemistry makes no sense unless you are purposely shooting old color shifted films and actually want sub par results.

I am planning to switch to Unicolor (aka Arista), but I will make my own stabilizer which is the critical step! Then it's perfectly okay to use and not worry about the color bugs munching on your film later.
