Freestyle has lowered their price on Arista 50 film for 35mm in 100 foot rolls.
It is now Out of Date as of 2/26/06. As you may know this is relabeled Ilford Pan F+ The current price is $12.99 / roll.

If you like Pan F+ maybe this would be a good time to stock up and fill your freezer. They have 1333 rolls on hand.

This is a good deal! The price of Pan F+ with Ilford's branding is now close to $40 for a 100 ft roll.

I planned on doing this, but I don't have a credit card. Heh. I wanted to get 3 or so rolls. I *love* Pan-F.

Jim: I've always wondered what APX 25 was like...at the prices right now, I'm not going to find out beyond the one roll I'm getting from a very nice person.

I've seen pre-paid credit cards in drug stores, located with the pre-paid phone cards. You buy the thing, add money to it at the checkout counter, and use it like a regular credit card. Technically, I suppose it's a debit card tied to an account at whatever bank issues the thing. IIRC, they've got a monthly maintenance fee of about $5. At the prices for the Freestyle-rebadged Pan F+, it'd be worth getting one for a month just for the three rolls you say you want, then ditching the card. You'd just need to be sure you've got enough money on the card to cover your Freestyle purchase plus shipping. I'd add a little extra for safety; you could then spend the extra at local stores.

The prepaid credit card thing works, but for a one shot deal like this get a Visa Gift Card or even and Amex Gift Card. My local bank does the Visa gift cards for $5 or you can get them at Simon mall for $2. You load it in increments of $25, $50, etc. Some websites won't accept them b/c there is not a billing address to match it to, but if you call the merchant and give them your order over the phone there usually is not a problem. Someone gave me one for my birthday last year--I used it to order film from J&C

I can send them a check or money order, actually. I just don't want to wait that long. I have plenty of money to spend on film...I'm actually still trying to decide what to get. I also have to remember to save some for paper and paper developer/fixer/stop.

Stephanie, you`re now where I was about a year ago, testing every film/developer/process there is, and having fun doing it

I have now put a stop to the crazyness, and I have decided that Tri-X is my film of choice, for any format(35mm/6x6/4x5/8x10)
For 35mm and 6x6 I use Ilford DDX, and Pyrocat HD for 4x5 and 8x10, and now I can concentrate on the making of photographs instead of thinking of technicalities.

It's good stuff, but Pan-X was better.

Thank you Claire. I just *HAD* to order 400 ft of the stuff. Why is it now there's more film in my freezer than food?

It should be sent to me for safe disposal before it attracts cosmic rays

Looking over some old negatives in both Pan-X and Pan-F the Pan-X was a better film. It had an extremely clear base and was a very clean product. Not that Pan-F is bad or inferior but the Pan-X was clearly my favorite. It came in sheet sizes also. I would like to see Pan-F in sheet film sizes, like 2 x 3 and 4 x 5.

Curt I just loved Pan-x. It was my favorite film by far. Panf+ that I can get is much handier than Pan-x that I can not get.
