Sold Argus Brick 1 - no longer available

I came into an old Argus camera (actually two of them) with some accessories. This one has no designation, C3 or whatever. It’s a rangefinder, two windows at the top, one for viewing, another is a sliding image rangefinder. Camera is clean inside and out. I couldn’t get the shutter to fire, maybe it needs film loaded. It comes with a nice case, but it is embossed with the name of a previous owner, D. L. Spridgeon. Also comes with a Sekonic selenium meter, an orange filter, and a “flash dial” card. Has a flash unit with diffuser. All in a Gadg-it genuine leather carrying case.

Pretty sure with the coupled rangefinder and a flash it has to be a C-3 (and my 57 vintage C-3 has no model indication anywhere -- different times!)

It's definitely a C-3. That was our family camera when I was a wee lad. My Dad shot lots of slides with it. It became my first camera in my early teens when i developed (no pun) an interest in photography. It set me on a road of lifelong enjoyment with photography. I still have it, though the case has long deteriorated.

PS - Just a little side note - because it had no fittings for a neck strap, I devised a wooden cradle that worked pretty well and made the camera much more comfortable to use.

I've always had this issue with my C3. It doesn't get used as much as I'd like because of the lack of lugs.

Don't know if all cases were the same over the rather long market life of the camera, but mine has a case where the top/front portion unsnaps leaving a sort of half shell with the straps. Of course that has to come off to reload film, but a typical 35mm roll lasts a while. My current problem is the case stitching could use some attention. I replaced the strap long ago.

The case with this one is like that.
