That's odd... I've never had that problem before.

i think there are exceptions to every rule. it can happen but might not happen all the time...
i've hung up and disconnected the line before; both on living and barely living robotic callers, kids crank calling &c.
and just today i called someone and the call-ee by mistake hung up and i got a disconnected ..
when i called back she said she was sorry she pushed the wrong button and instead of forwarding my call, she hung up on me.

We mostly get robodialing humans. I would tell them that I was deceased but they were too stupid to know what I was saying. One lady said she hoped I got better soon.

My favorite is when they call looking for my dad. He really is deceased. I once gave a telemarketer a "forwarding number". I wonder if he really called the cemetery.

Long ago I stopped having argumentative discussions with telemarketers. Then I started asking lots of questions. Then I started asking what the were wearing. Lately, no matter what they are selling I tell them I'm in that business. Call me for home remodeling and I'm a contractor. Call me for heating and air conditioning, well I own a heating and air conditioning company. Call me for donations to the policemans fund and I say I'm the chief. Call me to vote for a Republican candidate and I tell them I'm not a citizen (but those calls are generally recordings so nothing I say will phase them one iota). Call me for charity household goods pickup and I'm generally quite cooperative. I tend to like the charity organizations.

I have a digitone call blocker. It shows the number calling, if it's out of state for instance I hit a button and cut it off. Then I block it and they can't call back again.

I also have an answering machine for my business and rarely answer directly unless I know the person. My message tells them I rarely get to the phone so leave a message or it tells them my email address.

I've had MagicJack for the last seven years and never have that issue. When I hang up the call is ended no matter what. Even when I had a regular landline for many years before that I didn't have that problem... but I dumped AT&T long long long ago. My post at the top wasn't entirely accurate. When I had AT&T so very long ago I did have that problem on rare occasion but never again since I dumped their service. Gosh, it's been so long ago that I can't even remember when that's been. If you're wondering... I hate AT&T with a burning passion. At any rate, I would have assumed this nonsense would have ended many years ago but I guess not.

And to get back on topic: I invite all AT&T lovers to hatefully rebuke my disgust of the American icon, AT&T.

Not a single thread - but in many threads people tried (and failed) to prove that meduim and large format can give better quality than 35mm.
