That's odd... I've never had that problem before.
i think there are exceptions to every rule. it can happen but might not happen all the time...
i've hung up and disconnected the line before; both on living and barely living robotic callers, kids crank calling &c.
and just today i called someone and the call-ee by mistake hung up and i got a disconnected ..
when i called back she said she was sorry she pushed the wrong button and instead of forwarding my call, she hung up on me.
We mostly get robodialing humans. I would tell them that I was deceased but they were too stupid to know what I was saying. One lady said she hoped I got better soon.
My favorite is when they call looking for my dad. He really is deceased. I once gave a telemarketer a "forwarding number". I wonder if he really called the cemetery.
