I must say that this year for me it was disappointing. Ok, there were couple of prints from Bresson, Koudelka, Titarenko, Bassman ... but almost all that was after year 2000 was not very good. And the prices for prints are like 80.0000 - 100.000$, even million $ is not unusual... Also some cheap "shocking" photos like naked children, almost pornographic nudity... not satisfied, and the entrance is now more expensive (32 euros).

Anybody else went there?

And the day after I visited Picasso museum - that is the place to go, superb!

When there are no replies - let me add couple of photos from my visit .

I went on Thursday and agree it was disappointing. The ‘Karl Lagerfeld selection” was mainly empty wall decoration and I ended up avoiding anything with his signature against it. Vintage prints seemed to be scarce and the newer work tried too hard! I went to Fotofever on Saturday at Carrousel de Louvre and whilst mainly newer work by younger photographers there was a lot to like. Had a more intimate feel to it and the galleries/ photographers were keen to chat about their work.

I went to the show back in 2015; there were many pre-2000 photographs to enjoy. I was struck by the move to vendors displaying huge photographs of mundane objects, as if the huge-ness made them “art”. For example, there was a set of life-size photographs of French-style doors as used on balconies — tall with lots of glass. What’s the point? I did enjoy the opportunity to view a lot of new publications. I’m sorry to hear that it was disappointing this year — but I would have liked to be there to be disappointed!
