Anyone using the Kowa 66? I've got some era literature to get rid of, haven't had a Super 66 kit in years and doubt anyone will trade a Super 66 kit for the Hasselblad stuff I have now.

Thanks

I have a Kowa with 2 or 3 lens I received for free. Have not tried it yet maybe this spring I will. Isn't the Hasselblad stuff better though?

Nope, @ 11x14 or smaller I can not tell the difference. If you mean is the equipment more robust, yes it is at a professional level of use...but for the hobbyist I don't know if that is still true. I had 40mm to 500 and didn't have any trouble with the Kowa equipment. Anyway, I have a notebook full of factory Super 66
literature if you would like it for the price of postage.

I have a 4 lens Super 66 kit and a Hassie and you are correct - up to 11x14 (and maybe larger) no difference. I would love to have the literature. PM me please.

And if you are often printing at 16X20 or larger there is always the argument that you should be shooting large format instead.

I think sometimes photographers worry too much about image sharpness between cameras and lenses.

Yup, and I have a Zone VI 4x5 for those. Truly, the Kowa lens are every bit the match for Hasselblad....I just bought into the hype sold the Kowa and bought the Hassy stuff.

Obviously a very wise man.

All siriusness aside, scan the manuals and send it to http://www.butkus.org/chinon/ or mail the manuals to him.

FYI - there is a new Kowa 66 lens adapter for Pentax digital cameras. The manufacturer promises similar adapters for Kowa to Canon and Nikon.
