hmm... I've been waiting 2 weeks for some chemicals I ordered. No one on the end of the phone, no replies to my email.

I would seriously steer clear of these guys (Dead Link Removed)

Does anyone have any information about them? thanks,

I never ordered from them before, but I keep reading terrible things about them. I hope that your problems are soon resolved.

This sort of thing has been aired here before, and various reasons have been given and discussed. As above do a search and you'll find a few threads that may give you a better feel of the company

On their website they state: "In order to reduce inventory, many Ilford Papers and Chemistry have been drastically reduced to clear. When they’re gone, they’re gone!". They no longer list any Ilford films. In fact there is no longer an awful amount of anything listed compared to a year or so ago.

Most things they stock or did stock can be got in the UK from Silverprint in London and/or Ag Photographic in Birmingham. Both do mail order.

IIRC Silverprint did take over a lot of the more esoteric stock such as the reversal printing paper a good few months back, and shifted it quickly on special offer. Not sure how much of it they re-ordered as full stock items afterwards

Hi All, just thought I'd let you all know what happened. Well, my chemicals turned up... 3 weeks after I ordered them!

I've already been on to my credit card company, for them to recover the funds for me, so I'm not sure what prompted mr/ms Retro Photographic to send the order. Either way I will never order anything from them again - I'd rather gnaw my own leg off or possibly even use a digi compact camera. Both scenarios would be equally unbearable, yet preferable to ordering from retro photographic again.

There we go... all's well that ends well. I really thing APUG should remove their endorsement from the RP site!

Thanks to all for their help.

...three weeks? Only...?! You lucky bastard. ;-)

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Web site is no longer there (403 error from the server). So I think perhaps conclusions can be drawn.
