I ordered some Rollei ATP-DC and low contrast developer, but I'm not even sure if those are still being made? Just curious if I need to explore another non caffenol way to get some copex and atp developed.
I ordered something (not chemical) from Adorama that was backordered, and got an e-mail that it was going to be drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. YMMV
It's hard to say, since the retailer is at the mercy of what the manufacturer or distributor tells them..... I've had long waits from B&H for Foma paper...... 3-4x the stated time
When I see stories like this, all i can do is be grateful that these longstanding dealers are still there at all in this post-digital apocalypse era. I'm sure that these fine folks wish as much as we do that they could give a dependable deadline date. When or if. One thing I'm confident on is that they are in there trying their best. Our end of that deal is to find a way to make-do with the products they CAN deliver on.

It's not a dig on adorama or the distribution, all the various items I ordered (from different suppliers) all have the same backordered date. I thought perhaps if it is just an automatic arbitrary date not based upon anything.
You’d have to ask Adorama, of course, to get a valid answer for this specific situation, but my experience with backorders in general is that the date can either be the next known shipment or a retailer’s best-guess estimate based on intuition or hope… or supplier-provided estimate.
