After researching several possibilities for sleeving my large format negs,

I received yesterday from Fred at View Camerea store some archival sleeves I am really enthused about. I was able to get sizes 4 x 5, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, and 16 x20 !

I had posted a thread awhile back searching and received many suggestions thanks all. Also had quite a few inquiries as to my decision.....just thought I would let you all know....these appear very durable, stable and are archival...after going to all the work and expense of producing a neg I like, It can be very discouraging to have it destroyed and or damaged due to substandard materials.....Thanks Fred....

Double Poly Envelope Solution to 4x5 Storage

Finding the proper size archival materials can seem darn near impossible sometimes. I had no trouble finding clear envelopes for 4x5 CTs but I wanted to then put those into a second clear polyester envelope to achieve a dust-locked but still transparent enclosure for my best "keepers" (w/o resorting to looseleaf-type pages & binders) I ordered samples from multiple sources, but they were all too small to serve as this 2nd over-envelope.

Finally found a good source for standard sized 4x5 clear polyester 4 mil envelopes (US$50/100) at Hollinger Corp in Virginia(Dead Link Removed). They also custom made 4.5 inch x 5.5 inch clear polyester 4 mil envelopes which fit perfectly over their standard 4x5s. Price for the custom 4.5x5.5s is US$59/100 with discounts for bulk orders. Not the cheapest archival option perhaps, but this 4 mil clear polyester double envelope combo is perfect for my purposes.
