Which is more archival: graded or variable contrast paper?

I thought I had read something that VC papers were not as archival because they contain organic materials.

Some people say that graded papers produce sharper prints or have a higher Dmax or work better with old-style cold light heads, but I haven't heard that they are more archival in general than VC papers.

neither is archival if you don't treat them as such. ie doing all the stuff you need to do to insure that they are archival.
