Ara Guler, who was nicknamed the "Eye of Istanbul" has passed away according to the Daily Sabah, an english paper in Turkey. The photographer was 90. You can read more about the long time Leica shooter here....

I saw a show of his work somewhere recently - I want to say it was either in Italy or in Mexico. Might have been at the Smithsonian though. Beautiful work.
