Hi All,

Updates complete. 3 point releases on the forum code and 2 point releases on the gallery code. Any issues just let me know. We seem ok as far as I can tell.

Thanks for your patience,
Sean

All seems unchanged on the forum.

Of course I can't access the gallery.

What i can say is that i love the decal that says "OP" whenever the OP adds posts to a topic. It is elegant and helps following the thread. Thanks!

Agreed. It helps to know to whom you're responding, the OP or adders-on.

Response time in the last few days has been REAL slow. So slow that the proxy and browser (w/o the proxy) fails with a time out.

I've not had any issues with time outs but I DO love the OP decal (as it is called). Life on the forums are now a tad easier; thanks!

Are you using a VPN or proxy? Any intense web/virus scanning apps installed? How about browser plugins, caching plugins etc. Also try updating your Java and also marking all of your posts "read" can help if you have 1,000's showing as new. Also, try a different browser and see if that rules out your browser as an issue. I'm not seeing an issue at the moment, everything is instantaneous.

Sean, I am having the same issue since probably Monday or Tuesday US date. I updated Java to 8/131 a half hour ago and the problem persists. my Java was probably up to date prior to that release. Using IE 11. I guess if I was using a proxy I would know. so probably not using. I have disabled (actually not installed right now) my security software. I installed Firefox early this morning East Coast time and still not acceptable performance.
I went back 3 or 4 restore points ago to 4 April with change in performance.
Gallery, forums, posting stuff, all seem to hang up when moving onto new links. Sometimes I have gotten "server not responding' messages. If I reselect the link it then comes up often, but not always. Login has sometimes worked ok and other times not so much.
No other web site that I use has any performance issue for me.
I have logged in from another computer that I use via VPN with no problems.
My location has changed since late Monday and I will not be able to return to the previous until Friday night. Maybe that has something to do with it? Except others seem to be having similar issues.

No change for me. I have had a Tasmanian devil of a time getting back to this post and replying. Also problem logging in . I rebooted my computer and that has not helped either.

Just to let you know, this most recent reply took about 15 seconds to upload. That is quick - I have waited over a minute before trying to reload page.

Strange, still instantaneous for me.

I have logged in from another computer that I use via VPN with no problems.

This seems to indicate something local with your ISP, but odd that other sites are not giving you trouble. I'm curious if you are able to connect/tether to your mobile phone network only then try from your mobile network.

I do not see any changes on the internet with the APUG.

OK. I will see what happens when I go over to the other ISP on Friday. Too many things changed for me between Sunday and yesterday - Windows updates, Java, the new site, the ISP I am working from ...

I will try to log into from my phone tomorrow. I have never done that before and have not installed the mobile app.

Thanks, Sean!

I've been experiencing this, too, but noticed that if I stop the page from loading and then hit the reload button, the page responds immediately. Sometimes it takes more than one try, as it did while trying to submit this post.

Sorry Sean, forgot to add that.
It's Vivaldi 1.4 (Chrome based) on Puppy Linux 5.6 (base code Ubuntu Precise derived).
I'm now posting this reply from Vivaldi 1.9RC2 on Win7-64 and all is well.
I expect something in the update(s) has triggered a shortcoming in the much older version of Vivaldi.
Not worth looking into for such an obscure combination!

Apug seems to be responding a bit quicker for me since your restarts last nite.
