A fellow APUGer did a favor for me so I offered to run a small sale for the benefit of APUG. This is a well preserved Kodak No. 3 Brownie box camera. To my eyes it looks like it has all the attributes for a tintype conversion camera. First, it is generously sized at 3.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Large enough for a satisfying image but not like carrying a steamer trunk with you. There is a perfectly recessed film gate to rest the tin upon, and then there are pressure springs built into the back to secure the tin against the gate. In front, there are three apertures to choose from! True luxury. And of course the necessary choice of B or instantaneous times. Lens is clean and clear. Even the ground glass peep windows (vertical and horizontal) are really useable. The price is a paltry $8, or you can have it for free as long as you send a reasonable tintype in exchange later. In the case of a tintype exchange, I will make the donation to APUG in your stead. In either case, the buyer pays only actual shipping. Enjoy!!

That's a great camera to convert to wetplate use. I have several that I use in workshops and the participants are always pleasantly surprised and amazed at the results. They are amazingly sharp stopped down. I have also taken a couple and removed the stops so that the meniscus lens is then fully open to give a dreamy diffusion effect. A cheap way to get a Verito-like look.
