Is this a representation of one of his dioramas or? What it is not is the Ruins of Holyrood Abbey. One company sells prints and attributes this to Louis Daguerre. I am sceptical. But I am interested in Daguerreotypes so we will see where you are going with this
You are quite right. on my screen the correct orientation comes up as a wee thumbnail just below the main image in Koraks post.Daguerreotypes are flipped on the side, similar to a negative. This image has been flipped again to look like the orientation of the street as it is today.
