I didn't know she took it. I'm currently studding one of her portraits book. Her use of natural or minimum light and less frames, equipment is encouraging.
In WW11 before Jane was into photography she joined the navy at eighteen and was later a naval officer and part of the Royal Navy planning staff who planned the landings on D. Day. After the war Jane worked for The Guardian Newspaper for 65 years which in itself is phenominal, and if you met this quietly spoken demure elderly little lady you would never imagine she was one of the world's leading pro.photojournalist.
