Aperture setting on a vintage Prontor SV

This may be a dumb, neophyte question but I am unclear about setting the aperture on the Prontor SV shutter. On the pictures I try to show how it is unclear what part of the lever is supposed to correspond to the aperture marking. The instruction manual doesn’t say. Is it the left edge that should rest against the marking or the right, serrated edge that should correspond with the marking? Anyone know?

I would expect the lower edge that is closer to shutter body. I think the serrated side is just there as something for your finger to grab.

I believe the “pointer” is the flat end.

Brian, the image shows a Prontor-S shutter from a Bessa 1 manual. I don't have mine at hand, but I believe that the Prontor-SV works in the same way. In practice, the aperture lever will move to the left of the f22 line, just enough for the right-hand edge (the raised, serrated part) of the lever to align with the f22 line. Initially I took that to indicate that the right-hand edge of the lever should butt up against the f-stop line to register that f-stop correctly. I now believe that the orientation shown in the image is the intended alignment. So, for instance, in setting f22, the left-hand edge of the lever will align with the line just to the right of the "22" on the label, and the "16" would be covered by the lever body.
