Hello there!

Today I was using the Nikon 105mm f2.5 AI and I noticed that every time I tried to set the aperture to f2.5, the aperture clicked into position in two different places. Put another way: I was able to click the aperture so that it read 2.5 in the viewfinder at two different points, whereas all the other aperture settings could be set cleanly. I hope I am explaining this well - it is a little difficult to describe. I wonder if this is the sort of thing that should be repaired? Could this have any bad effects on the photos? Thank you for trying to understand my poor description. Truly I am having a hard time explaining this, but hopefully it will make sense!

Many thanks for your time!

That second click should be the click for f2.8, the full stop about f4. f2.5 is a third stop above that, but Nikon gives you the click for full stops too.

Hello and thank you for that! There is no 2.8 marked on the lens though - I'm not sure if that matters?

The difference between 2.5 and 2.8 is so small you’d probably never notice the difference in your exposure or negative or print... in any practical way.
