I just purchased a used-but-functioning Minolta Flash Meter III with diffuser disks - but without the proprietary Minolta sync cord. I'd like to experiment with M3 flash bulbs, and this particular model meter supports measuring M-sync bulbs. Initially, I'll be using my Tilt-a-Mite attached to my Crown Graphic, shooting Fuji Instax wide; eventually, I'd like to try the J Lane dry plates with flashbulbs.
As near as I can tell, the Minolta Sync Cord II has a conventional threaded male PC connector on the meter side, and a male and a female PC connector on the camera side; you connect the male plug to your shutter, and the female to your flashgun.
Is there any generic substitute that someone could recommend? Perhaps I could use a long PC male-to-female cord from the camera mounted flashgun to the meter, meter a bulb at the subject, then plug the flashgun into the shutter for the actual exposure.
Any thoughts on any of this?
