Anything Softer than Emaks? Graded or VC?

Of four papers I tested Emaks was the least contrasty;
an easy Grade one from Grade two using the low contrast
developer Beer's 1. I could use an even lower contrast paper
but Grade one is no longer available. Another Graded paper
or even a VC which prints very soft with no filtration
would help. Any suggestions? Dan

I don't know how it compares to Beers 1, but you might try Emaks in amidol with a waterbath, which is what I do to get a softer grade with Emaks. Since you have Beers 1 on hand you could also try that with a waterbath, but waterbath development tends to work better with amidol than with other developers with emulsions that benefit from amidol.
