The discussions about FX-55 seem rather old and have faded away. I came across this developer while searching for other information. Before I run my own tests, I was wondering if there are any newer comments.

Is it worth a try or should I stick with Xtol? I don't process a lot of film and it appears to be a rather simple formula.

If a simple formula is the goal, are there many D-23 users out there with 35 mm?

Most people go for simplicity D76, Microphen, Rodinal,
Many have not bothered with powders.
The film is the critical choice...

D-23 is an old and venerable developer but still very useful. It is my choice for Ilford Pan F which tends to be contrasty.

I tried FX-55 one time, many years ago. Did not like the results, tossed it out.
