I just bought a used Durst M805/B&W head in mint condition for 140 euros:smile:, came with one Bimacon 80 and one 75 with one Femocon 50 (I presume this is for 35mm?), no user manual unfortunately.

Now, I like to get the maximum out of my equipment, to do so, I like to know for what is every little screw on the machine and that brings my first question, could some user provide me a copy of the manual, if possible?

Question 2, can I work with 6x9 negatives with this Bimacon 80 or it's just for 6x7?

Thanks for your help!

Andre,

Although I've not used the M805 I did have the M800 for a number of years with excellent service.

I would only use the 105 condensers for the 6x9cm format. Using the 80 will more then likely give you uneven illumination of the 6x9cm negative. The Femicon 50 is indeed for 35mm negatives.

When using 6x9cm don't forget a decent enlarger lens in the 90 to 105mm range.

Trevor,

Thanks for your answer.

After too much research over the net with not so satisfactory results, I finally got some info. For future reference to whom interested, here it goes.

Three condensers are available to the BW kit.

The Bimacon 80 serves for enlarging 6x9 and 6x7 film, the Bimacon 75 double condenser is available for 6x6 and the combination Bimacon 75 + Femocon 50, for 35mm and smaller film sizes.

Cheers
