I have acquired a Jules Richard Glyphoscope and I think its a fantastic piece of French engineering. The camera shutter and f-stop assembly detaches and then you can use the plate holder and lenses as a viewer. I will post pictures if anyone is interested?

Does anyone else own one of these? And are you using it? There is very little about these cameras out there on the internet.

Thanks in advance,

Regards

Carl

Hello,
Here is a photo of a Jules Richard Verascope, with a plate holder beside it and an AV1 to appreciate dimensions.
The camera is more sophisticated than the Glyphoscope but can't be used as a viewer.
It has a magazine back with counter for 10 plate holders in a 4,5 x 11 cm format.
I have not used it

I recently purchased one at a garage sale, along with two portable viewers and about 600 glass slides, all pictures taken around 1900-1920 throughout Europe and the Americas. It also came with about 150-200 glass "negatives" that I think were used as film for the camera. I would love to learn more about this camera, and wonder if it could still be used, but like you I can't find much information on how they worked. If anyone has info, I would appreciate it!
