Your posted link is one of the key sites where I started thinking about c-41 home brew. Then I read a collection of old British Journal of Photography annuals, and trolled the rec.photo.darkroom archives.

Then Maxwell was nice and sent me a collection of his recipes.

My current C-41 formula is called Flexicolor Clone in past discussions on this site.

I have DIY'ed RA-4 when I was processing in tubes.

When I moved to a roller processor it oxidiazed too easily to work in the roller. I switched to Kodak RA-RT, and have been very satisfied with that product.

I do still mix wierdo colour print formula from scratch occasionally to do things like EP/2 prints, and reversal experiments.

Do you still have the notes?
Local shops have increased the developing costs and I cannot afford it in long term. I would love to learn this.

I would not say that this recipe (C-41) is the best for homemade. When I tried this formula, it caused a rather strong imbalance in the contrast of the color layers. I think what it suitable for lomography only, not for serious work.

Worked fairly well for me, but not entirely optimal. But surprisingly close to somewhat more advanced DIY formulas that were supposed to be better. The color balance was absolutely different from Fuji minilab chemistry, but some alterations in filtration got more or less the same output on paper.

I have, and some of its previous renditions. Differences were minimal and not better for printing than the simple bonavolta formula. I did no densitometry though. There were differences in filtration, but prints with proper filtration to suit the negative looked virtually identical.

I actually found c27 to be marginally better than c29. Again, my testing was rather informal, just some strips of film and then printed onto RA4.
