Anyone used North Coast Photographic recently?

I am thinking about sending them some E-6 film, for processing and scanning. I've never used them before. Are they still good?

These guys are my local. I got a roll developed last week.

Open Mon-thur every week. They're plenty busy, normally turn me around in one day. I don't do slides at home so they get all my E6
. They scan with Noritsu. This is one of theirs on Velvia:

I used North Coast Photo for my 4x5 and medium format both E6 and C-41. Processing only. I scan my own film. They return them flat and in plastic sheets. If you're shooting roll film, I would get them to cut the film and insert in plastic sheets rather than returning them in a roll as that just makes it harder to scan or chemically print later on. You want to keep them flat.

Do you scan? How many pictures at one time does the holder take? That would define how to cut the film (medium format).

With 35mm, they'll put them in a 6x6 sheet.

I just had 4 rolls of E-6 120 done by them last week. It was processed accurately, quickly, and mailed back within a day or two. I know the owner Richard from my drag racing days back in the 70's & 80's. He is a professional all the way around.....

Yeah, they'll do whatever you want @MultiFormat Shooter . Just ask them if you want anything special.

I don't want mine paged as I use a holder that is easier with a continuous roll, but they include paging with the enhanced scan and I can get that done if I'm lazy and not going to rescan the negatives (I sometimes like to use my own scans rather than the Noritsu, which spits out jpegs).

I've had them do my color prints for the last 2 years, which is where I started with them before I went back to film. When I switched to film they were happy to answer all kinds of dumb questions and very encouraging with my experimenting with their prints. Maybe it's because I'm a pain in the ass, but they definitely know me there and treat me well. Sometimes I think I only shoot a roll of color now and again for an excuse to go say hello to Bonnie and Esther.

I don't have them cut my 35mm film, as I need it in strips of 6, and last I remember they cut it in strips of 4.
Never had an issue with it curling to scan. That has nothing to do with whether they return it in a roll, but all to do with what film it is. Films like Lomo Babylon and Fantome curl up like a pretzel (and that is with me dev and then drying it flat!), HP5 etc stays pretty flat.
Film like C200, ProImage 100, Superia 400 stays crazy flat after returned in a roll.

In between my last post here on March 10th and the other day I'd processed more E-6 of 3 rolls 120 and this time 6 sheets of 4x5 too. As always, a flawless transaction including quick turn around time .

I used NCPS for some B&W recently, mostly as a test for the future. The 120, shot with a Hasselblad, looked great but the 35mm came back consistently underexposed and muddy, Shot with my F6 in program mode using a 24mm lens with a light yellow filter. It was an overcast day so I didn't really need the filter. I sent those negatives back for analysis. I need to know if it was the lab or the camera to proceed.

Yes and yes. They use Clayton F76+ developer similar to D76 Kodak for b/w.

LTI Lightside in NYC is also very good for b/w but they don't do E6 chrome's.
