Hi all, just got my Epson V850 yesterday and have been doing a bunch of testing.
I tried VueScan as I've seen a lot of love for it, but the colors were always just wrong. The included version of SilverFast is great, but I'm kind of let down by only being able to select 48->24bit color and get 8bpc images.
I see I can do a 64bit HDRi RAW, but would need to upgrade to HDR to process it. And I'm not sure if the processing will then let you output at 48bit (16bpc) or will still max out at 8bpc. And heck, I'm not sure if those extra bits will really make a difference!
So just looking for thoughts on if the separate editing program and potentially higher bpc output is worth the upgrade cost.
Thanks for taking a look,
