Anyone use Fujica MP Rangefinder ?

Hello friends
I have joust bought on flea market Fujica MP (looks like Fujica GE or GEr), I don't have any idea to use it.
The film crank lever works well but the shutter button is rather difficult to press but it finally pressed, but I don't know why the shutter blade/aperture blad didn't react, not even open just a while.
- is this camera must use battery to operate ?
- considering this is 70's camera and difficult to find its battery, do you have suggestion what battery that I can use for?

My guess is the battery is only for the meter, and not needed for general operation.

Sounds like the shutter is stuck, and it would need a cleaning (or even better, a CLA). If you're ambitious, you can open the lens and clean the blades yourself with some acetone or lighter fluid.

Can't find a manual for it (or the GE/GEr), but looks like it's an all manual camera, and the meter is an exposure guide. Get yourself a decent handheld meter, and you should be good to go.

The M version has an electronic shutter, needs power to operate the shutter, the difference between the M and MP is that the M uses a selenium cell built into the camera while the P uses a battery operated meter. I cannot find a manual for the MP, so only guessing with the M.

"You select any speed which believe is right for the shot focus and shoot. The instant you press the shutter release the computer goes to work. It checks the speed you have selected and if necessary RE_SETS it faster or slower." There seems to a manual override, but the shutter is electronic.
