Anyone try Rubbermaid tubs these for trays?

I saw one of these the other day and they have a nice, ribbed bottom and are very well shaped and not too large. They should be great for 12x16 and there are fitted lids available.

Anyone ever use them?

I use something very similar I got for $3.99 ea.
Basically a "bus" tray.
$10 is a bit much, more than regular dr trays

Yes - I purchased something similar they were in a pack of three and described as being for seedlings. There was a very nice picture of a tray full of plants and underneath there was a card insert with some gardening hints printed on it.

Of course you all know what happend....
I got back home and unwrapped them and found that the bottom of each tray had been drilled with very small holes...

Really? I priced these at just over 11.00 with lids just now.

B&H sells a 5" deep tray with a fitted lid that will accomodate 12x16 and is as sturdy as a bus tub for less than that? That's wonderful news!

If anyone has these, please let me know if the trays bend or warp if hand-held when 2" full of liquid.

I use three large tubs for 16X20 and 20X24, really too large for my small darkroom, they are not rubbermaid, some other brand that I got a Wall----. I looked up prices at B and H ,but with shipping the Wall---- tubs were about 1/2. The other option is to use a color developing tube, I have an old Ilfordchrome that will take a 16X20, works well for RC, not so great for FB, but it is really slow because it needs to washed between each print.

Yeah, I agree. I bought a few bus trays from a restaurant supply house for only a few bucks each. Didn't get the fitted lids, simply because I didn't see the need for them. They don't seal particularly well and offer no advantange if you plan to store your chemistry in the trays.

Yup, you bet, and I also use the Rubbermaid screw top containers to hold my chemicals, and then to keep them out of the light, (and also as a second line of defence against leakage) I store them in a Rubbermaid packing container.

I've used bus tubs I originally purchased from a restaurant supply house for years. They work really well. They get a little bendy with a lot of working solution in them, but it's not been a problem.

I'm interested in the lids for when I want to use the same chemistry for a morning and evening session...or an evening and morning session. I'm sick of plastic wrap.

I have used the ones with holes in the bottom as a print washer for about two years now. Works quite well.

The tubs I bought at Walmart have lids.

They work great and can easily handle 2" of solution. The lids are nice for keeping the smells down, but I'd still use the plastic wrap as a "flotation lid" if you want to keep the solution for longer than a day.

You can get them pretty cheap at Smart & Final stores if they're close to you. About $4-5 a tray. Lids are another $3.
