After buying three Leica R 90 Elmarits that ended up having fungus I have given up on finding a reasonably priced one that is clean, and am now thinking of the R 135 Elmarit. All I see online are shots from these that were modified to shoot on DSLRs. I plan on shooting one w/ a Leitax adapter on a Nikon film camera, but wonder if they compare favorably to the R 90 lenses. I can live w/ the 135 focal length as long as I can find a clean one (the prices on these seem much more reasonable than the R 90 variants). Does anyone here have experience w/ these lenses? Thanks.

have had one for the last 25 years or so. Very nice lens. No fungus problems. I haven't put it on a bench to test it, but it is a Leica lens, nuf sed.

Thanks. For some reason the R 90mm Elmarits seem particularly prone to haze and fungus. Never had any problems w/ the R 90 Summicrons I once owned either, but all the R 90 lenses have more than doubled in price the last few years. Having them cleaned is really expensive too. The R 135 Elmarits are running around $300 or so, which is in my price range.
