A friend of mine ran into an issue developing C-41 but I haven't encountered the problem myself, does anyone here have any thoughts?

Here's his words:

I processed 3 batches of films but did not got good results
Please refer to the picture in attachment.
The emulsion-side is green and sticky. Once dried, the green is gone but the negative strip is very rigid.
The rolls at the left look good, and the day after, they were rigid, and once scanned, there seems to be a color-shift.
I took great care to maintain the proper temperature.

Here's the pic:

Stickiness is comming when you wash and rinse after stabilizer rather than leaving the stabilizer on at the end.
I know, I have done that before :D

I do not know what does rigid refers to ...

Color shift can be caused a lot of thing, including unapproriate scanning profile, set up in the scanning software, the negative itself (porta for example very pron to poor scanning results unless you have a profile, that is more or less impossible so you have to readjust in photoshop).

I have seen color shift also because of underexposure on my negs.

Hope this helps.

I agree with said by zehner21.
The film held in hand with green emulsion seems to me like a problebm - bleaching / washing.
For me I which using ECN 2 process for the development of color negative (I have more documentation available) I recommend you look at chapter problems arise film.

The rigidity of the film is given of suport the properties. He is the mechanical basis of the film.
I us suppose that:
1.remained a metallic silver in the final image (Grafis color).
2.blue dirt or scum.
Question: film looked on reflection on the support shows a blue – green color?
The film though has retention silver image can be saved by treatment with bleach and fixer.

I had problems with green film (not rigidity, though). It was caused by light fog. Color film is unbelievably sensitive to the warm spectrum (tungsten light). Even a red light on an extension cord can trigger this. - David Lyga

You're right but... It seems that the green colour is present only in certain areas of the film. If fogged, you should see green also around the sprocket holes and in the rebate area.

Right, as inferred by PE. There just might be some selective contamination at work here. Remember: color chemicals are not as 'forgiving' as are B&W chemicals. On the other hand, why can fog NOT be selective? If only certain portions have been so exposed to light, that would be the case. - David Lyga
