I’m about to make a Contax RF to M adapter using a Kiev bayonet mount.
Has anyone here tried it and do you have any advice or pitfalls to watch out for?
Thanks
Karen

Contax RF Lens to M body or M lens to Contax body? If you're going M Lens to Contax body, the flange-to-film distance is wrong for it to work.

This is what kept me from shooting Leica R glass on Nikon SLR cameras until Leitax came out w/ what is essentially a different lens mount that is easily installed on the R lenses. Ck him or other places to see if someone sells the mount you want, or eyeball it and see if you can change/modify the lens mount you have to make it work.

Sorry for the confusion. I do mean a Contax lens on an M body.
I know about the Amedeo adapters and they are indeed fine adapters but I would like the challenge of building an adapter myself.

I will use the adapter for internally mounted Contax RF lenses on my Leica SL with a close focus M-adapter L so I don’t need to worry about the accuracy a rangefinder adapter would require. I use my Contax lenses on a Contax rangefinder so my homemade adapter will never be used on an M rangefinder.
