Anyone know the current status of Velvia 35mm?

Hi there,

This morning my friendly drug dealer (i.e. film shop) curtly informed me that they will not have any more 35 mil Velvia in stock due to discontinuation by the vendor.
Searched the net and found only this article, which says the film is not gone but being sold in smaller packages: https://www.photocounter.com.au/2017/fujifilm-clarification-on-35mm-film-supplies/

Is Velvia really being discontinued?..

Agreed, Fuji seem to leave film choices to the individual distributors in each country or area, without any pattern or easy way to check the actual position.

By the way, you might suddenly discover that this thread has been moved. APUG has a special, hard to find place for unconfirmed speculation and rumours about product discontinuances. Most of the threads there were initiated when someone at the retail level said something that may not be totally accurate.

This story reminds me of my mother buying an Olympus point-and-shoot when she went to buy film for her Instamatic 104 in 1988. She told me she had to buy a new camera because the store said they no longer made film for her camera.
In fact, Kodak would continue to make film for her 104 for another ten years.

It's the same person who is taking jobs in film stores around the world, spreading these rumours until he sees a "hit" on APUG then moving on to the next victim to begin again.
