"What's not to like about E100, polarised, in natural light, rendering natural colours?" - exactly. This is how I shoot E100 and get good results, yet, I also shoot Velvia the same way and can't help but notice the differences as everyone/anyone would.
No I don't like nor want a hyper-saturated film like the junky E100VS, and we all can only speculate on Velvia's future since Fuji can no longer get their dyes from Brazil, Kodak could keep open filling this void with an additional new slide film.
Yah, I know, here come the naysayers............

That's the most detailed info I've heard on Fujifilm's difficulties sourcing the materials they need for their slide films. Do you have any more information, or a link? Thanks!

I was given that info from a prominent Midwestern E-6 lab.

So what you're saying is Ektachrome in 70mm and 220, while theoretically possible, are unlikely, at least not anytime soon.
If they ever make it in 65mm I would make it into 220, but it would definitely be an extreme undertaking…

I agree that 220 would take Devine intervention. But 70mm, maybe there's a secret NASA/CIA application stash somewhere ???
There are almost certainly a few cans of areal slide film in 70mm kicking around, but they’re not going to be the same emulsion of E100 we know now, and probably a bit different from most consumer ektachrome in the past due to the nature of areal film. And anyway, they’re all almost certainly toast by now. See Retrochrome.

I give E6 another..... Well we will see if Kodak Alaris can keep Ektachrome alive. I think that's all we can expect.
