Anyone have data sheet for new Velvia 50

Dear Apug,
I have heard that the new data for the new Fujichrome Velvia 50 was handed out at this week's In Focus workshop/tradeshow in the UK. Does anyone have a copy of it or know where it is online? I"ve checked fuji website and the choose film website. If anyone has it, would they mind posting some of the critical data for that film?

Hi Debra,

There is a link to a data sheet pdf in Japanese on this page. You can work out most of the information - reciprocity info, curves, granularity, resolution etc.

Sizes mentioned include 220, 5x7 and 11x14.

I checked that page and though I cannot read Japanese, it looks to me like the old Velvia pdf, not new. Correct me if Im wrong.

Er, no, I think you are absolutely correct - it is the old data sheet. Sorry about that, and thanks for pointing it out.

Fujifilm website doesn't seem to have any new Velvia data sheet, but the new film is called by its code "Velvia50" whereas the old one was called "Velvia" "Velvia 100" etc. and never "Velvia50." The new name seems to have no space between Velvia and 50, and also followed by Professional.

Fuji UK mentioned over on Choose-Film.com that they have the spec sheet, but that it isn't available in PDF yet.

Thank you Helen, Ryuji, Bentley and Robert - I did receive a data sheet on the new Velvia 50 from another forum user on another site, and I also wrote Fuji Film who replied basically, "not available yet". Right. The only difference that I see from the graphs is that the blue sensitive layer has a larger wavelength that it reaches to; the old Velvia 50 only went to 410 but the new Velvia 50 reaches down to 385 and I am told that is within the visible spectrum. I would like to try the new film when it is available,

I have received today the hard copy sheet that Fuji UK offered in Choose Film. The spectral sensitivity curves are identical to the old Velvia. My old Velvia technical data sheet reference number is AF3-960E, and as far as I know is the latest sheet published in Fujifilm global, maybe there was an older one with differente spectral sensitivity curves. BTW, the spectral sensitivy you mention is more likely to be for Velvia 100 and Velvia 100F.

In fact, the only differences I have detected are the sheet film base, the old Velvia used 205 microns cellulose triacetate, the new Velvia 50 uses 175 microns polyester.

And the relative humidity recommended for medium term storage, in the old velvia 30-60% was recommended, in the new Velvia 50 30-50%.

Everything else is identical.
