I have just learned (straight from Maco) that Rollei R3 4x5 film is no longer being made. I like this film, having recently got to a place I'm happy with in the exposure/development continuum. Does anyone know of any dealers with some stocks on hand? Anybody buy some, not like it, would like to see it go to a good home?
Thanks

R3 in 120? I don't know. This is what I got from them in response to a query about R3 4x5 and where I could find it in Canada. The rest of their response went on to describe new films they had coming out - in 120 and 35mm. I have asked them if they are discontinuing all 4x5, as I'm not clear on that. I don't expect an answer until after the weekend. I seem to have advance notice as the dealers I've heard from so far know nothing about this. Hopefully an announcement that will make things clear will appear soon.

Dear customer.

Rollei R3 cutted sheet films
We believe, that the photo industry productions for traditional films/papers are a permanent changing process.
Since 2002, we sold ROLLEI R3 cutted sheet films.
Now, we recognise that the market for such expensive film shrunk. This won't allow an further production.
From this consequence, ROLLEI-FILM has made the decision, to produce the ROLLEI R3 cutted sheet films no longer .

dr5chrome, Thanks, Have you got a bunch? (are you a dealer?) I'm interested - can you PM me more information, including what you want for the sheet film, and if not a guesstimate about shipping, at least what part of the world you're in?

Keith,
Er, a non-functioning light meter? a digital camera that went for a swim in a tide pool?
I don't have much to offer. Is there something(s) you're interested in? looking for?

Oh... Film!
Other than the stuff I've recently bought - which undoubtedly cost more here than in the US, I have:
120 - 5 rolls of Kodak Portra 400 NC dated 2001
4x5 - Fujichrome 64 RTP, 10 sheets, never opened, dated '85
Fujichrome 50 D, 10 shhet box, opened, number unknown, dated '85
Kodak Vericolour III 6 sheets, dated '86
Kodak Proffessional copy film, 100 sheet box, opened, feels heavy, number unknown, dated 82

I got all this from the last proffessional lab in town when they were closing down. It has all been in the freezer since I got it, and he got it out of his. There were other open, outdated boxes which I have used which were all fine, so I assume these are too.
