Should be very nice for verifying your enlarger is correctly aligned. If all four corners and the center are in sharp focus at the same time, good to go.

That's the intent. Quick check. Appears to be precision printed, just wanted to get second hand confirmation before splurging up on this. He sells sizes for 35mm and 120 as well, each targeted somewhat differently.

I just take a clear piece of film and score it with a very sharp knife. Works great and it's free.

Actually good point. Never done it. I suppose those are just light yet clear scores?

The test negative looks sharp on the screen. I would expect it to work well.

It's easier to check enlarger for corner to corner to corner sharpness with negative of simpler forms. If one is produced to be tack sharp, all the better. But otherwise you are right, any negative can be used.
