Hi all--

I just got done modifying and testing a SA-21 strip feeder to make it act like an SA-30 roll film feeder. Works like a charm on my LS-5000. Here's instructions:

http://www.helmut-stoepfgeshoff.de/sa21-sa30e.html
http://www.jumboprawn.net/jesse/cam...scan-4000-sa30/nikon-scanner-roll-feeder.html

It's pretty simple, mostly dis-assembly, and then just soldering 2 points together. The second link has a better description of that, the first link has a slightly clumsier method.

Anyway...I was wondering if anybody out there was using this trick, and if so, what are you using to hold the input and output, since it can now scan strips of 40, but I don't have the $600 piece of plastic from Nikon.

I was thinking about using some CD/DVD "cake boxes", but I was wondering what other ideas people might have. Or if anyone has good pics and a description of how the Nikon $600 piece of plastic works, so I can try and emulate it.

Thanks--

Hi

I was thinking of it, but decided that since I'd have to muck with the uptake stuff I'd give it a swerve till later (if needed).

Glad to hear a report that it's working well

Does it scan negative as positive well? I know my SA-21 does not like this so I end up having to muck with the offset manually or use the strip holder

I have the LS-4000 btw
