Hey Everybody,

Does anybody here use the Jobo 2551 Multi Tank 5 for processing sheet film? I have been using the Unicolor Print Drum, and I am looking for a better system to process 9x12cm and 6x9cm sheet film, and this one looks like a winner to me. I would probably use it on a Unicolor Uniroller or Beselar Motor Base, which I already have around.

Is there anything else out there that I should consider in the JOBO line? The 2551 will process 12 sheets of 9x12cm in one run, using two reels, or, 18 sheets of 6x9cm in one run, using three reels. This would be great for my future needs. Can anybody out there confirm these capacities for me (especially the 6x9cm).

Thanks!

This reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask. Some of the capacities listed for the larger film drums exceed the 1000ml limit specified for the CPP2 processor. What's up with that?

I use the Jobo 3010 Expert Drum. I settled on it after trying many other alternatives. It is work the cost.

OK Thanks for the response.

Let me re-state my question:
To use the 2509n reels with 6x9cm film, what is the process? I would guess you twist the reel apart, and bring the ends closer together, and then re-lock it. Is that how it works? Are there 6x9cm inserts like with 9x12cm? If the reels are compacted down to 6x9cm, can I fit three of the them into an old Jobo 2551 Multi Tank 5? This would allow me to process eighteen sheets (on three 2509n reels) of 6x9cm film at a time? The cameras I am using are European and do not take the normal US sizes (like 4x5").

Another question, Is there a way to use the 2509n reels accommodate 2.25"x3.25" sheet film? I have a need for that, too.
I have about a thousand sheets of 2.25"x3.25" sheet film and am wondering about it fitting on the 2509n reels.

Yes.

no. There is no need for them in 4X5, and for sure not in 6X9.

I think so but not sure, will check tomorrow and let you know.
For sure you can use 3 6X9 reels in the Multitank 6

You will need to check if the reel has enough lip to hold that film - my guess is you can.

All is good. I just bought a 2551 Multi Tank 5, two 4x5 reels and a Jobo film loader.

If anybody knows where I can buy a used JOBO Cascade Film washer for a good price let me know through the forum.

Looking forward to adding this to my darkroom.

I've also picked up a Multitank 6 and also an Extension Tank for the 2500 series.
And I have just purchased a Cascade Film Washer for a great price.
I am still looking at getting a Multitank 2 with another 2509n reel in it.
So I should be just about set for my B&W work

Here is what I ended up with.

A Multitank 2, Multitank 5, and Multitank 6 with 2509 reels.

Perfect for my present needs.

Getting ready to start using the above for 2x3 and 6x9 sheet films. Thinking about PMK+ and continuing with D23 1:1. I can do 24 sheets in a run which is good production IMO. Also I have a olde Nikor Tank that will hold twelve 6x9 or 2x3. Got plenty of all kinds of film in different kinds. Some is frozen and some is not
