Any UK online dealer with a "wish list" feature

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a UK based online dealer in film, chemicals and darkroom equipment that offers a "wish list" in the manner of Amazon?

I regularly browse about 6-7 U.K. retailer sites and don't recall seeing one. What exactly does it do, is it a way of telling the site that you were looking for some product that is either out of stock or not stocked but you's buy it if it was?

I know that on some websites (in general not just photo sites) require you to sign in before you get the wish list option.(the site need to know who the list is for)

Some newer sites can use cookies to hold a temporary list. The idea of a wish list is that you can make a list of all the items you like but don't want to buy just now.
The "add to wish list" button is often beside to "buy now" or "add to cart" button.

You could also try the "email a friend" button on some sites and send it to yourself. It's a bit of a work around.

Just curious but what is the purpose of and whom does it help if you tell a website of items you like but don't want to buy now?
What help is trying the"e-mail a friend " button. Does this simply tell you what you like? Surely you already know what you like. Just to inject a bit of humour, isn't this like sending yourself a picture of your wife to remind you of whom you chose to marry?

I have to be missing something here, surely. Tell me what it is?

To my understanging now, there are several different meanings to a wishlist:

-) memorizing things you are interested in buying but for whatever reason will not buy that moment
-) showing friends what you would like to have and what they may buy at that store for you as a gift
-) showing the dealer what your are missing in his portfolio

And even more important, storing a list of all the things that you buy regularly - really handy for anyone in charge of keeping things at hand for something like a school photography program.
B&H's wishlist function (as an example) gives you the ability to have separate lists for separate categories - e.g. film in one, darkroom chemistry in another, printing paper in a third - as well as giving you access to a single page that lists availability and pricing information of everything you buy regularly. B&H's system also allows you to easily add something on your wishlist to your shopping cart.
It also serves well as a pure wish list - a list of all the things you would love to have, if and when the budget permits.

I use it this way, but there is also a fourth benefit--what I would call a "culling list." If I go onto B&H for Camera Bag, and I prefer shoulder bags, there are today 1060 possible shoulder bags. Filtering them down using search facets (the detail filters on the left side) might help some, but if I'm looking for something with a lot of options, I'll try different searches, then page through the results. If I see something that is maybe good, I'll add it to a list. I can come back several times, I can try different searches, eventually, instead of 1060 possible items, I'll have 20-30 items. At that point I'll go through the list again, look closer, and start culling out some items that I thought would work, but won't really. Eventually, I'll narrow it down to the 3 or 4 items I know will work. Now the decision is much easier.

Yep basically all of the above.

I use my Amazon wish list for several purposes:

1. To store a list of things I am interested in buying in the future
2. Friends and family can have access to the Amazon list, which is great for "hints" for Christmas and birthdays
3. When looking for something specific (eg bulk films) I can keep a list of my preferred items from that retailer and track prices/availability
4. For things I do buy regularly I don't have to search.
5. Out of stock items, because I like to think the retailer might realise it's in a few wish lists and get more stock in.

WIth Amazon I have a list that I share with people, which just basically has things on it that at price points from a couple of quid to £40 that I'd love to receive as gifts when the mood takes people. And a second list of stuff like series of books so I keep count of where I am and which books I've bought in the series, film that I buy regularly etc.

It would be great if some of the photographic specialists who offer stuff not available on Amazon had a wish list.

Amazon actually used to have a browser plugin to add items from other stores to you Amazon Wish list. None know if it is still available. I am sure that Mr. Bezos has data scientists examining what folks put on that list to see if there are items his crew should add.
