I put this thread here because I didn't know where else to put it. It may belong somewhere else, so feel free to move it if so.
Are there any Tucson photographers here? I need some help, and it has to be in person, posting a pic here would be useless. What happened is, and I still can't believe this happened, while taping some B&W fb prints to the wall to see what they looked like, I also put up an old B&W print that was made in a non traditional way. Only because I stumbled upon it.
Well! I need someone that understands this to look at a side by side comparison in my light, in my place, and tell me what they see. Coffee, lunch, drinks, whatever, are on me. Steve
Thanks Matt. I actually found a LF photographer here (not a forum member, I just cruised the photo places and someone was nice enough to come by and look at things). Plus, my neighbor from Scotland finally was able to get back into the U.S. and arrived a few days ago. Elaine's a glass blower and has a good eye.
None of this worked anyway, and I'm not sure why I ever thought it would. I asked these folks to ignore the subject matter, sharpness, etc, and just give me an objective opinion of how the 2 different medium's images felt to them, but it just wasn't possible. They ignored all that, and talked about nothing but that. So, I decided to buy a few things and make some small prints to find out. I think COVID has me a tad frayed mentally.

feel free to put them on a wall and take a cellphone snapshot and PM them to me I'll be happy to give my objective opinion of how the 2? (more?) images felt to me. I won't pay attention to subject matter or sharpness &c. I spent the last year and 1/2 year in zoom classes doing just that and would be happy to do it for you. (if you are interested). I won't tell you to stop down and tilt the camera differently or get a different camera with Zeus' lenses &c cause none of that stuff matters to me.
I think a lot of photographers &c aren't used to overlooking those things .
Sorry, I didn't see the apostrophe, I'm on my smartphone currently because I have no landline at the moment because my phone line has been blown down in a recent storm, I have no internet connection for my computer until the engineer fixes it next week.

Lots of photo potential in Tucson...it's crawling with photo students, has one of America's ultimate photo galleries. Oddly I've never noticed photographers there... maybe they are lost online
