Hi,
I recently bought my first TLR, a Reflekta II with Meyer Trioplan lenses and Prontor SV shutter. I'd like to learn as much as I can about it, like what you think about it, how to repair it and everything else you can think of talking about. I have searched these forums and have not seen it mentioned much.

My camera seems to be in ok condition, considering that it has probably not been used for about 45 years. I found an exposed roll of Kodacolor X in it, this film was apparently discontinued in 1974.
The magnifier in the viewfinder is broken off. Is it possible to get a replacement?
The self timer doesn't work, but that doesn't bother me too much.
The focus lever is very hard to move. That is at the moment my biggest issue with it. I'd love to be able to fix that, if anyone has some tricks. Or I might try to find somewhere to send it, although that will probably be a bit too expensive for me.

Anyway, I'll probably buy a roll of film soon and try it out as it is.

Hi, Hans,Generally things that are still are from old grease the best solution is likely to be cleaning and new lube. Regarding the
magnifier, find a similar camera and replace the original. How you get it done may need a bit of jury rigging. It may be easier to get a folding
pocket magnifier. one style will be a leatherette case that the lens pivots out of. Had one like that when I collected stamps. I have one here
that would also work but doubt it would be worth mailing it to Norway.

For the magnifier you could buy another Reflekta II and swap the viewing hood. They are cheap cameras, especially those with the Meritar or Pololyt lenses. The Meyer Trioplan is a very good triplet.

Hei Hans!

I'm norwegian too (Agder).

I have a Welta Reflecta II and I serviced it myself. As I'm used to, by now, I did not get the Prontor shutter quite up to the nominal speeds. Only to around 1/3 stop too slow, but I had full success with the rest of the camera.
Hans Kerensky in the links above is a very fine resource, and I may have some pictures too. Not on the net, though. If you run into problems, I may be able to help.
