I keep reading that PCP80 is the best MF projector, and I can easily believe this, but I'd like some details. The main problems of the Rollei projectors I have are the heat that's not good for slides, and (what surprises me most of all) a poor construction that basically can't ensure slide stays strictly parallels to the lens/screen. Are there any additional elements like cold mirrors to reduce heat that are not present in Rollei projectors? Has anyone seen PCP80 internals and knows how the slide is fixed during projection?

I havet used a pcp80 since 1988 and i am very happy with it. I cannot really answer how the slide is kept in place during projection but i obtain good grain sharpness over the entire image area. The light path involves a mirror which removes part of the harmful long wavelength radiation which heats the slide. I can definitely recommend pcp80 for MF slides.

What type of Rollei MF slide projector do you use now?

Thanks, Carl.

mnemosyne, currently I have P66S and P11. Maybe it's better in newer models, at least they added rollers for lens support, but again, hard to find any details what's inside. When I first saw P11 I was excited - sturdy metal plate and a spring that presses a slide against it. But it turned out that the entire construction is not parallel to the lens - maybe only mine, but anyway there's no way to adjust it (involving DIY I mean). If you have a newer Rollei projector (except 66 dual p) and could post a photo with top cover removed, that would be great too.
