I did on my Epson 1680 with the mirror laying flat on the bed. The light is reflected away from the sensor array so that only dust and other imperfections that reflect light in the direction of the sensor can be seen on a black field. In conventional Photography this is called "dark field lighting". Now I'm trying to figure a way to apply it.
Certainly an interesting effect. Not clear what can be done with it. Perhaps those who create images using scanners may be able to use it for background to highlight some other object?
