Any issues shipping KRST in northeast-US winter?

Through poor planning I’m running low on Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner and nobody local stocks it. This means ordering from B+H in New York. I’m always a bit concerned about shipping liquid chemistry in winter because of the possibility of some component(s) irreversibly precipitating out.

Am I worrying unnecessarily in this case?

The manufacturer may have more information about the potential for problems and may have better shipping options available.
They also may be closer to the OP, which might help.
But most important of all - having access to more sources can be good.

I think the OP is worried about the KRST freezing during transport, potentially rupturing the bottle and/or rendering the toner less active. Have we addressed these issues?

Having the salts in solution below the solubility limits will help prevent precipitation in lower temperatures, but will the dissolved chemicals in the toner concentrate prevent freezing at possible sub-zero temperatures (Fahrenheit)? How protected are items in transit protected from very cold outdoor temperatures? Would the bottle the toner is shipped in withstand the solution freezing and expanding without rupturing? I really don't have answers.

That's what I thought was the OP's problem as well and like you I don't think we have given him any useful answers. Maybe all we can be is honest and say we cannot be sure as you have been but we seem to be loath to ever say "we don't know"

OP here. Doremus pretty much hit it on the head. My primary concern was that some constituent would permanently precipitate out, rendering the toner useless. I was less concerned about freezing and possible leakage because most everything I order from B+H gets here next day so by watching the weather I can avoid the coldest days.

I tried contacting PhotoSys yesterday and landed in voicemail. Perhaps they’re shut down this week, some companies (including my former employer) do that around the Solstice holidays.

I took a chance, ordered yesterday, and opened the box about an hour ago. There’s no preciptate, at least.

FWIW, when you reach out to PhotoSys with this sort of enquiry, you are actually contacting Cinestill, who handle their distribution and Customer Service. For technical questions, they pass them to PhotoSys, and then pass PhotoSys' answers back to you.
