I might be able to obtain some (my gf is in Japan right now) Fuji Microfine and Super Prodol (SPD) developers, most likely not large quantities, but it all depends on demand. If there is any.

For the ones who don't know Microfine is the recommended developer for Acros and SDP for Neopan 400 or general pushing.

As for prices, they are fairly cheap over there and come in 1L and 5L dry powder packets. The final price will depend on how much postage costs out of Japan.

If you are interested in trying out something new and different. Let me know. Otherwise I will just get it for myself

1 l would be plenty thanks.

Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2

I should also add that 1L packet of Microfine can process 8 rolls of film and weights around 150g (I have 2 packets with me). 1L of SPD can process 10 rolls and I have no idea how much it weights, but I guess it can't be more than ~200g.

The packets themselves are not too expensive, but I'm still trying to find out the prices for shipping.

I'm interested in trying Super Prodol. How much would it cost?

Hi James,

I hope that it's cheaper than Japan Exposures http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/index.php?cPath=23
Otherwise I will not be doing this.

I should also correct myself, Microfine only comes in 5L packets. SPD comes in 1L, 5L and 20L packets + 10L replenisher which I have no idea how to use.
I really hope to keep it under $9 per litre. The bigger packets and SPD would be cheaper. It all depends on the shipping prices.
If it's more than $9 per litre, I will not bother doing it. Since I'm going there again in January and I will pick up some stash then. If few people will be still interested then, I can pick up some as well. But not a lot, since I'm going snowboarding and my bags will be very full and heavy as they are.

If I pick it up myself it would be around $6.20 for Microfine 1L (78cents per roll), $5.20 for SPD 1L (52cents per roll), $16.20 for 5L (32cents per roll) and $46 for 20L (works out about 23cents per roll). There's also 10L replenisher at $36 and it can process around 5000 rolls. I have no idea how to use it, after all, the instructions are in Japanese, it's also for machine processing. One last thing, the prices would depends on the currency exchange at that time too.

As for the prices now, it would be the same as above + cost of splitting shipping between everyone. Also if you are in different city, I would have to charge extra for postage there. I guess if few people are from Melbourne, I could just post it to one person there and they could distribute it to reduce postage costs.

Don't mean to butt in here, bur for those interested, the current prices at Yodobashi are 330 yen for a 1L package of Microfine. Super Prodol is 260 yen (1L), 810 yen (5L), and 2280 yen (20L). I have a few packages at home myself, but still haven't used them as I am working through my diminishing stock of Rodinal. Once that's gone, I guess I'll go over to Fuji since their chemical products are so much more abundant and cheaper than Ilford and Kodak (both of which I still currently use -- old habits break hard). The only problem with Fuji products (chemicals, paper) is that there is no English-language support, although the charts are clear and obvious enough to understand.

Hi Mooseontheloose, Sounds like you can get them cheaper than my gf, she's in Yamagata at the moment, so we are not talking Yodobashi here. Can you ship the stuff to Australia and how much would it cost? I could send you a bottle of rodinal in exchange

Well, I'm not near a Yodobashi myself, but I do know that they deliver anywhere in the country (for free) I think. I could do it, but then maybe so could your girlfriend since she could get the stuff shipped to her address. That being said, I'd love to get my hands on another bottle of Rodinal! I'm not sure about shipping chemicals. They are pretty anal about a bunch of stuff here, although I've had chemicals from the US and Europe shipped to me in Japan no problem. Also, shipping costs would be based on how many packets and the weight, something that really could only be figured out once you knew how much you wanted of what.

Anyway, I'd like to help you out, but the next couple of weeks are going to be really busy for me, so I don't want to commit to something that I might not be able to do right away. Just FYI.

Thanks for the tip. I will see how it goes, she's a nurse so she's pretty busy herself. I'm just being patient. The last time I had 3 packets of Microfine in my checked in luggage, 1 of them was pierced and the powder was all over my clothes. It's kind of unusual that my clothes could have done that.
