Hi All,

I have brewed up a batch of FX-10 to try with both 35 MM APX 100 and Tmax 400. Anchel and Troop suggest 5-11 minutes straight or, "diluted 1-3 for T grain films" but that is a pretty wide range on the APX and no hint is even given for the 1-3 dilution onthe Tmax 400. Is there anyone out there who can get me a bit more into the ballpark than this? Any help would be much appreciated!

Yes, I know I am an unrecovering magic bullet chaser, but I am having harmless fun with it.

Thanks in Advance,

Jay L

a thought- try expose step wedge under the enlarger

Try by exposing the film in the a dark, contact printed with a step wedge? I do this when making unsharp masks to get a feel for how long the exposure and development should be for a film, and enlarger height, with no negative in the enlarger. I then spot meter the light with a grey card on the baseboard (or if too dull, a white card pro-rated by the right number of stops) to get a rating for the material combinations. It is a lot faster than trying to do the same proceesdure exposing a whole film in a camera with shutter and aperture adjustments. I develop pan films in the dark in trays unit I get it close, then fine tune for small tank service.

With CD-2 I would not be dipping my fingers in the tray; PPD agents are usually not all too healthy; keep the vent fan running on high if open trays perhaps. Tie a stainless steel wire through the sprockets. I use TIG wire from a stainless fabricator shop. They are happy to give you spool ends.

Where did you find CD-2?
