Any cool photographic destinations within 200 miles of Eastbourne ?

I'm going to visit a friend of mine in Eastbourne in two weeks and would like to to take my 4x5 to do some shooting around the area and not more than half a day inland (stay in a hotel over night if i have to). Are there any destinations of note that are worthy of photographing ? What are some good pro labs around london where I can buy 4x5 film and get color developed (i will develop my b&w back at home in canada).

Any tips would be great.
 
Hundreds! Where to start? Why not make the pilgrimage that every photographer seems to make at least once - Dungeness? Decaying knarly stuff a-plenty - the lifeboat station is quite a good place to park, or why not ride in in luxury on the narrow-gauge railway?
 
Photographing in the rain

Almost forgot to ask, everyone says it's raining a lot in england, any tips for large format work while it's raining ? Plastic bags covering the camera until exposure or is that useless ?
 
200 miles from Eastborne is a very big radius. Close by is Battle, great little town, excellent Pub and a Photogallery well worth a day around there. Try and go west to the New Forest, there's a lot to see & photograph.

South Downs, Cuckmere Haven, Pevensy and Bodiam castles, Arundel, Lewes, Brighton, Rye...
As a Sussex man born and bred I can say that the South East of England really has so much to offer - the only problem, apart from the rain is that there are a lot of people around and setting up a 4x5 will be likely to draw a good bit of attention - especially in the towns and tourist traps.

Re rain - bitter experience has taught me that even a couple of drops of rain falling into the open slots on the side of an LF shutter will stop it working completely. This is part of the reason why, when I work with LF (not often these days) I use a Pacemaker Graphic, which can be slammed shut in less than a second if need be. If I was absolutely determined to take pictures in the rain, I'd only do if I had a companion with a golf umbrella!
