I just got a very vintage Kodak Autographic 3A from around 1920. Shutter was a little stuck, and then, the shutter completely detached from the switch. I paid very little for this camera, and it takes 122 film (which I have 120 adapters for). I don't really want to pay to send this out to get repaired, but I'd really like to try and fix. Could someone please direct me to a manual or some instructions as to how I can reconnect the shutter switch to the shutter?

Thanks.

hi

i have this same camera ( maybe ) , it belonged to my grandparents ..
can you post a photograph of what you are talking about ?
mine is a vest camera ( the bed folds out and the lens slides out on a track
there is a shutter release on the shutter ( lever ) and a cable release socket ...

is it the lever on the shutter ?
did the shutter release unscrew ?

if it is the shutter, you might have to buy another shuttered lens
and swap it out ( take the back off hte camera and unscrew the
retaining flange ) or take the shutter to a repair guy to have him remove
the face plate and re-attach ? machine a new part? the lever ...

sorry for my apparent cluelessness about what it is that is broken ..

great camera btw !
i use mine with paper negatives

Attached is a pic. I tried my best to get the shutter in the pic. You can see me holding my finger down on the release. The shutter is not moving even though the release switch does.
