I am not so sure Ansel gets a free pass to Heaven after the way he treated Mortensen.

I respect what Adams did, but the way he treated Mortensen was ugly and crude, and not at all in keeping with the creative acceptance of the art world.

I'd be more worried about Garry Winogrand's heaven except, being Jewish, I don't think he believed that he would be there anyways.

Brooks is a funny guy. I remember visiting him at his shop in Anacortes where he was running a gallery and producing Lenswork. I was/am a fan of AA and remember expressing my admiration for him. Brooks laughed and related something similar to that quote.
